Chicago Humanities Festival (Heartland Prize)

Legendary local journalist Rick Kogan will be in conversation with me. The event venue is on the campus of Northwestern University. I'm thrilled to be a finalist for the 2019 Vermont Book Award. (Vermont has been my quarter-of-the-year home since 1999.) The awards gala will take place on November 9th on the college of the Vermont College of Fine Arts, in Montpelier. More info to come!

The Purdue Creative Writing Program, in conjunction with the Medical Humanities Symposium, welcomes author Rebecca Makkai for a reading an Q&A on Tuesday, March 3rd. The Q&A will be held at 4:30 pm in BRWN 1154, and the reading will be at 7:30pm in Fowler Hall. Both events are free and open to the public.
