I'll be reading with Cristina Henriquez, author of The Book of Unknown Americans, at the Harold Washington Library Center (400 S. State Street) in Chicago on Tuesday, September 9th at 6 pm. The event is presented by the Society of Midland Authors. The event is free and open to the public; more information is here.

Part of The Hundred-Year House is set in 1929. All of Renee Rosen's novel Dollface is set in the 1920s. So obviously we need to have a speakeasy night at City Lit Books. There will be specialty 20's cocktails from North Shore Distillery. Costumes encouraged but not required. It'll be the cat's pajamas.

I'll be appearing at the Kentucky Women Writers Conference in Lexington, KY on September 12th and 13th -- giving a craft talk ("Ending it All") in two parts (10:15-11:15 both days), and participating in a panel on Alice Munro. Registration is required for the conference.

I'll be reading at one of my absolute favorite local indies, The Book Stall at Chestnut Court in Winnetka, IL at 7 pm on Thursday, September 18th. There are at least two wine bars within walking distance. It will be lovely.

I'll be reading and signing and smelling all the books at the Vernon Area Library in Lincolnshire, IL at 7 pm on Tuesday, October 14th. Free and open to the public.    

On both October 31st and November 1st, I'll be in conversation with graphic novelist Marjane Satrapi as part of the Chicago Humanities Festival. Details to come.

On Friday, November 7th and Saturday, November 8th I'll be presenting at the Lighthouse Writers Workshop in Denver, CO. Details to come.
