I'll be reading at the Burlington branch of Phoenix Books along with Megan Mayhew Bergman, whose amazing collection Almost Famous Women will just be out in paperback.

At long last, I'll be home for the Chicago launch of Music for Wartime!

This will be my big Chicago event for Music for Wartime -- wine, food, giveaways, etc. Even though it's one of my last events, I'm considering it my "launch party"...

"THE MARROW is a monthly story-telling show that presents first-person narrative essays that get to the heart of the matter. The Marrow is every third Sunday of the month, and currently takes place at The Whistler in Logan Square."

At 7 pm, I'll be reading (from Music for Wartime) along with Aleksander Hemon, author of The Making of Zombie Wars. But also, at 6, the store's book club will meet to discuss The Hundred-Year House, and I'll join that group at 6:30. Contact the store for more details!

The Hundred-Year House is the Lake Forest Reads: Ragdale selection for 2015. The series of related events will culminate in my conversation with Davis Schneiderman of Lake Forest College on October 21st. Registration is free, but required.
